Increasing or decreasing shipping fees by service level

General Information

With Sendly, you can increase or decrease the amount you charge for shipping based on the service level selected. You can modify your shipping charges for some services, all services, for air or ground services, or even for specific carrier services.

When would I use this?

There are lots of ways merchants like to use this functionality. Here are some of the ways we've seen this used:
  1. Charging extra for express shipments
  2. Charging extra for select carriers
  3. Offering free ground shipping
  4. Offering free express shipping
  5. Entering their carrier specific discounts

How it Works

Services are broken down from most specific to least specific:

The priority of the service level is important. The least specific service level will have its value overridden by a more specific service level, should any overlap occur.

For example, let's say you want to decrease the shipping cost for all the carriers on your store by 10%. You would selected 'All Services' from the drop down and enter a value of -10% and click 'Add'.

Let say you then decide to provide your customers a $5 shipping discount for all your UPS shipments. You would then choose 'All UPS Shipments' and put in a value of -$5.00 (and click 'Add'). All your services would now have 10% off the shipping cost with the exception of the UPS services - which would have a $5 discount.

Accepted Values

You can increase or decrease your shipping cost by dollar ($) or percentage (%) amount.

Dollar amounts can range from -$5000.00 to $5000.00.
Percentage amounts can range from -500.0% to 500.0%.

Note: Sendly will automatically adjust the shipping charges to $0 if the cost for shipping
is less than $0.
