Frequently Asked Questions About DHL Services
What is DHL Express Worldwide?
DHL Express Worldwide is DHL's flagship international service: end-of-next-business-day delivery to more than 220 countries and territories, for pieces up to 70 kg (150 lb) and shipments up to 3,000 kg (6,600 lb). It is the default choice for most international shipments. Compare a live rate for your route.
What is the difference between Express Worldwide and the timed services?
Express Worldwide delivers by the end of the next possible business day. The timed services deliver by a set time earlier in the day: Express 9:00, Express 10:30, and Express 12:00. The timed services cost more and, unlike Worldwide, carry a money-back guarantee. Express 9:00 and 10:30 are limited to 25 kg (55 lb) per piece; Express 12:00 allows up to 70 kg (150 lb).
Does DHL offer a money-back guarantee?
Yes, on the timed services (Express 9:00, 10:30, and 12:00), subject to the terms on MyDHL+. DHL Express Worldwide targets end-of-business-day delivery but does not carry the money-back guarantee.
What is DHL Express Worldwide Import?
It lets you import shipments from over 220 countries and territories, including "Third Country" shipments (arranging an import from one country to be delivered to another). You get one account number, one invoice in a single currency, and a fixed price.
Does DHL deliver on Saturday?
DHL offers Saturday Delivery to key cities in more than 70 countries, and Saturday Pickup for smaller shipments (up to 25 kg) at selected locations. Availability depends on the origin and destination, so confirm it for your route when you book.
What is the heaviest shipment I can send with DHL Express?
A single piece can be up to 70 kg (150 lb) and a full shipment up to 3,000 kg (6,600 lb) on Express Worldwide. The network does not accept pieces over 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) or 300 cm (118 in) in length, and any piece over 70 kg must be shipped on a pallet.
Which DHL service should I choose?
For most international shipments, DHL Express Worldwide gives the best balance of speed and cost. Step up to Express 9:00, 10:30, or 12:00 only when you need a guaranteed morning or midday arrival. To bring goods into Canada, use Express Worldwide Import. Not sure? Compare services and rates for your exact shipment.
