Frequently Asked Questions About Canpar Shipping
Where can I drop off a Canpar package?
At a Canpar SMARTSpot or a Canpar location. SMARTSpots are partner businesses that Canpar describes as "hundreds of secure locations across Canada for parcel pickup or drop off." Canpar's Find a Location tool has a separate search for dropping off a package that is already labelled and prepaid, so print your label before you go.
Can Canpar pick up a package from me?
Yes. You can schedule a pickup on canpar.com or by calling Canpar customer service. Canpar's 2026 service guide lists a call for pickup fee of $6.50 per pickup, and regular shippers can set up a weekly pickup service at $7.75 per week. If you do not have a Canpar account, you can still ship through Canpar's pay-as-you-go Pick Up on Demand service, or book through Secureship: compare Canpar rates with other carriers and schedule your pickup in the same place.
What happens if I miss a Canpar delivery?
It depends on the address. Canpar makes one delivery attempt to a residential address, then takes the package to a nearby SMARTSpot; business addresses get up to two attempts. The driver leaves a delivery notice with a number starting with W. Enter that number in Canpar's tracking tool to see where your package is. It is ready for pickup after 12 pm the next business day and held for up to 5 business days. Bring ID.
Does Canpar deliver on weekends?
Not as standard. Canpar states that general courier deliveries take place Monday to Friday, although weekend delivery may happen during peak season. Saturday delivery is a paid option: for certain services and select destinations, Canpar guarantees delivery by end of day Saturday for $28.00 per shipment, chosen when the package is picked up. There is no Sunday delivery. See our Canpar Delivery Times guide for more.
What time does Canpar deliver?
Canpar states that business deliveries are made between 9 am and 5 pm, and residential deliveries as late as 7 pm. Canpar says it cannot give a narrower delivery window than that, so if you need a package by a set time, its paid 10AM and Noon options, available for select destinations, are the way to get one.
Does Canpar deliver to PO boxes?
No. Canpar does not deliver to PO box addresses, and it does not deliver to rural route (RR) addresses or Range Roads either. Use a street address, or compare carriers that serve your destination.
How heavy can a Canpar package be?
Up to 150 lb (68 kg) per package, with a maximum length of 108 in (274 cm) and 165 in (419 cm) in length plus girth. A single shipment can be up to 1,000 lb and 50 pieces. For the U.S., Canpar's own rate calculator caps each piece at 70 lb, so check with Canpar before sending anything heavier south. Packages over the limits carry large fees, explained in our Canpar Surcharges & Fees guide.
Does Canpar guarantee its delivery times?
On some services. Canpar refunds or credits the transportation charges when an outbound Select, Express, or 10AM, Noon or Saturday shipment within Canada arrives late. Ground is not covered. You have to tell Canpar in writing within 15 calendar days, each package must weigh 75 lb or less, and the guarantee excludes manual waybills, PO box addresses and shipments worth over $5,000. Canpar also states the guarantee can be suspended or revoked at its discretion. The full conditions are in Canpar's Terms of Service.
Who owns Canpar?
Canpar Express has been part of TFI International since 2002, as a member of its parcel delivery segment. Canpar was founded in 1976 and describes itself as Canadian owned and operated, with over 60 terminals and major sort facilities in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
